Professional development for school districts, healthcare organizations, and staffing agencies serving culturally and linguistically diverse learners.
Most clinicians enter the field without structured preparation for working with multilingual learners or culturally diverse families. The result: over-identification, under-identification, and missed opportunities to serve students well.
This training closes that gap with frameworks grounded in 18 years of direct clinical practice, not just research summaries.

These sessions are designed for organizations that want their clinicians equipped, not just informed.

About Maria
Maria E. Chisolm, M.S., CCC-SLP, is a bilingual speech-language pathologist, adjunct professor at Metropolitan State University of Denver, and founder of Layers Consulting. With 18 years of clinical experience, she specializes in assessment and service delivery for culturally and linguistically diverse children and families across Colorado, New Mexico, and Wyoming.
What distinguishes Maria's professional development is that it comes directly from the field. Her clinical work with CLD families is the foundation of everything she teaches — so participants work with content that has been applied in real sessions, with real clients, in both school-based and private practice settings.
Maria has presented at state and national conferences across seven states and to global virtual audiences. She serves as Vice President of Education-Elect for the Colorado Speech-Language-Hearing Association, where she leads speaker acquisition and continuing education programming for the state. Her sessions are known for clear frameworks, case-based application, and tools teams can use immediately.
Maria has been invited to present at state and national conferences, university programs, and professional organizations, nationally and internationally.
